As the Spring Festival approaches, the Scripture Copying Fellowship of Chongwenmen Church in Beijing has launched a "Greet the New Year and Send Couplets" activity this month.
Since last December, the fellowship has begun preparing for this event and set up a special group to copy the Spring Festival couplets, said the host church.
During the process of copying couplets, members exchanged and shared their writing experiences and insights. Each stroke reflected respect for traditional culture and conveyed good wishes for the festival. By last Saturday, a total of 1,100 Spring Festival couplets and 1,100 pieces of square paper featuring the character "Fu" (blessing) had been completed. These couplets and "Fu" characters, created in various styles, all carried heartfelt blessings. To ensure quality, fellowship members conducted a thorough review, inspection, and packaging process that afternoon, which took four hours to complete.
After last Sunday's morning service, the distribution activity took place in the courtyard. Congregants received the blessing-filled gifts with joy, admiring the couplets and "Fu" characters in their hands. Some also discussed the content and cultural significance of the couplets, sharing their joy and insights with one another.
