On June 7, the CC&TSPM of Jing'an District, Shanghai, held a special lecture themed "Resisting Heresy" at Moore Memorial Church, with Rev. Guo Feng, deputy secretary general of Shanghai CC&TSPM, invited as the speaker.
According to Shanghai CC&TSPM, Rev. Guo Feng gave a lecture themed "Holding the True Faith—An Introduction to the Early Church's Efforts in Resisting Heresy." In his presentation, he explained what heresy is and the various contexts in which heresy arose. Drawing on history, he guided an understanding of the early church's journey to survive and development in a complex social environment—how it confronted heresies, the process of formation of Christian doctrines, and the insight of evolution of church structure—to encourage churches to continually reflect upon, clarify, and systematize their beliefs.
Concluding the event, all participants recited the Apostles' Creed together under the guidance of Rev. Tang Weien, chairman of Jing'an District's CC&TSPM.
