On November 30, 2018, 20 medical volunteers from the clinic of Huaxiang Church, led by pastors, She Yuyun and Lin Xueying, from the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) & China Christian Council (CCC) of Fuzhou, went to a nursing home in Mashan Village, Yinxi, Fuzhou, to offer free medical clinic services and medicine to the elderly.
The medical volunteers consisted of experts in internal medicine, surgery, traditional Chinese medicine, ENT, and acupuncture. They offered free clinical services to 200 persons from the nursing home and free medicine worth more than 5000 yuan. They were so welcome by the elderly.
Rev. Lin Feng, standing committee of the Political Consultative Conference and the president of the board of the nursing home, said that the nursing home, located on Huangtang Mountain, Mashan Village, Yinxi, Fuqing, was founded by the Christians in Fuqing, with its very first residents being four seniors from a church.
The nursing home, costing 30 million yuan in total, occupies an area of more than 13,300 m2, with a floor area of 15,300 m2, and consists of a multiple-use building and four residential buildings with nearly 700 beds.
It began operating on October 20, 2014 and the nursing home now has taken in 500 seniors, many who are local Fuqing people. Some seniors are from elsewhere in Fujian Province and other places such as Hong Kong and Shanghai. The group is made up of both Christians and non-Christians
Seniors can easily participate in religious activities since the home is near the Mashan Church. To the north, there is a small park with cobbled pathways, fitness equipment, spray fountains and pavilions.
