Jackie Chan is already 63 years old but his career as an action star is still very successful and he still plans to continue it.

Chan is noted to have rose to fame with his unique action style seen on his movies.

"Though they were not that gaudy or exciting like scenes of explosions, audiences still liked my performances," Chan said in an interview with People's Daily, adding that people's preference for him ended up making him "a superhero from China."

Jackie Chan went on saying that although some kung fu stars practice specific martial arts,  his style is more mixed which incorporate elements from southern and northern schools, as well as styles from other regions and countries.

"I have studied Bak Mei, Wing Chun, as well as [Korean] Hapkido," Chan said. "It was a time when there were no i-Pads, computers, or even karaoke. I had no other way to entertain myself except to train."

"There are too many schools in China, so I think we should consider how to create a mixed style called Chinese kung fu," Chan said, adding that this style might be easier for the world to accept and that he sees his mixture of various martial arts as a good thing.

He also laud up Bruce Lee for gaining audiences' interest in kung fu. Adding that because of Lee, many people became interested on it.

Jackie Chan was also asked if he would like to focus on getting more roles outside action movies.

"Of course I like art films too, but there seem to be few roles that are the right fit for me," Chan said. "And I like romance films, too, which has those scenes of people strolling on the beach, singing love songs and kissing, but no one has asked me to do that."
