The Study of Protestant Church in Occupied Area of North China During the Anti Japanese War: A Case of the Methodist Church in China, 1937-1945, authored by Dr. Wang Miao, has been published by China Religious Culture Publisher in July 2025.

Supported by the Late-Stage Research Project in Philosophy and Social Sciences by the Ministry of Education of China, the book explores the responses of Chinese and foreign churches to wartime challenges, the evolution of the North China Methodist Church, and the roles of education, social welfare, and evangelism in occupied areas, reported Wechat Official Account: History of Sino-Western Cultural Exchange (中西文化交流史苑).

The book is organized into four chapters. It begins by examining North China Christianity before and during the early stage of total war, including the impact of the Marco Polo Bridge Incident and Japanese colonial policies. The second chapter analyzes religious spaces under Japanese puppet rule, highlighting compromises, non-cooperation, and internal church developments. The third chapter focuses on evangelism, education, and charitable work prior to the Pearl Harbor attack. The final chapter details the transformation of religious spaces under armed Japanese control, including the formation of the Chinese Christian Mission of North China and the Methodist Church's adaptation to union and self-reliance.
