The new book Sacred Characters: Daily Readings From the Chinese Bible, authored by Scott N. Callaham, was officially launched on November 5.
The book is designed to help English-speaking members in Chinese churches integrate Chinese into their spiritual life throughout every day's reading. It presents 365 Chinese readings selected from the Chinese Union Version of the Bible, each of which includes the English verse, pinyin, two highlighted Chinese words alongside corresponding English words, and a footnote section offering explanations related to the Chinese text, including grammar, culture, history, biblical background, and translation notes.
Dr. Scott N. Callaham currently serves as the dean of the Institute of Public Theology and has edited the volume World Mission: Theology, Strategy, and Current Issues and authored Biblical Aramaic for Biblical Interpreters. In addition, he hosts the "Daily Dose of Aramaic" podcast and composes Chinese worship music for congregational singing.
