From March 3 to 4, 2019, the president of the Hong Kong Lutheran Theological Seminary (LTS) visited Nanjing's Mochou Lu Church.

The visit was upon the invitation from the Jiangsu China Christian Council (CCC) & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM).

During the second Sunday service held at the church President Dr. Simon Chow Siu-Chun gave a sermon entitled "Gracious and Merciful God" citing Jonah 4:1-11 After the service, he answered questions raised by the church staff about the Gospel of Mark.

Dr. Chow was deeply moved by the accomplishments of the church in Nanjing and Jiangsu and the good internal and external environment.

According to the official website of LTS, the seminary was "jointly founded on July 1, 1977 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (ELCHK), the Chinese Rhenish Church Hong Kong Synod (CRCHKS), the Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong (TTMHK), and the Taiwan Lutheran Church (TLC). On September 3 of that year, the seminary held its opening service".
