US President Donald Trump has been known to brag about his sins publicly and built a career on half-naked women and casinos. Despite this bluntness, evangelicals seem to be okay when it comes to Donald Trump.

According to an article written by Josiah Hesse for The Guardian, the possible reason why evangelicals love Donald Trump despite critics is because "evangelicals know he is not a real Christian but they agree on his economic plan of deregulation, lowering taxes and keeping undocumented immigrants out."

"I don't think that he's a believer, but he cares about evangelicals," said Jay Eike, an evangelical Christian and Trump supporter from Broomfield, Colorado, revealed in Hesse's interview. "The tweeting drives me crazy. But evangelicals think his policies are more important [than his behavior]."

Eike also added that he never watched political news that much but tuned into the television when Donald Trump started campaigning.

"I've been thoroughly angry at the media. I was pleased to see him put them in their place. It was refreshing," he reportedly said.

"One of the reasons I support him is he doesn't say what's politically correct," Jerry Falwell Jr, Liberty University president and today's face of political evangelicalism, also said on ABC, talking about Trump's outrage response to the white supremacist rally held in Charlottesville.

After nearly eight months in his office, Trump's actions may not be ideologically based but most of them are designed to inspire outrage from academics, climate-scientists, LGBTSQ rights activists, feminist which are all considered what evangelicals mostly hate to discuss.

"I believe we're on the right side of history," Eike further added. "Trump came into this opposed to the whole Washington establishment. They have bogged him down and are trying to destroy him. But he's holding them back. The crybabies."
