A video footage showing blood leaking from Jesus Christ's tomb at the Stone of Anointing in Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre is now trending online. However, experts are skeptical about the claims and offered science-based explanation to the phenomenon.

Nicola Kanaan, a Christian devotee posted on Twitter about the said mystery and was shared at least 1,800. The post has been removed since then.

The footage showed the top side of the grave of Jesus with stains and red spots seeping through its stone. The tweet made the Israeli police investigate the blood leaking.

Twitter users flooded comments and asked details from the uploader but Kanaan could not provide further details. He revealed that he shared in on his timeline not wanting to mislead thousands of Christians online. Despite this, others debunked the video and said that it was invalid.

In fact, the Twitter users led netizens to a video that was originally uploaded in Good Friday 2014.

Meanwhile, "Haynes UFO Investigations Manual" author Nigel Watson said that the blood could either be "damp causing rusty patches, condensation, or outright fraud."

The Stone of Anointing was built in the 13th century; this is where Jesus' body was believed to be prepared for burial after his crucifixion.
