From July 14 to 16, Jincheng Municipal CC&TSPM in Shanxi Province hosted a workshop on the sinicization of Christian sacred music at Jincheng Church. The event drew nearly 300 choir members and church leaders from six counties, cities, and districts.
According to Jincheng TSPM, the training featured Teacher Zhu from the Shanghai Zhumu Sacred Music Studio, who provided both theoretical instruction and practical guidance. Topics covered included "Worship Rites and Sacred Music," "Sunday Worship Procedures and Their Theological Significance," "Christian Events and the Liturgical Year," "Sacred Music as Sung Theology," and vocal training. Teacher Zhu approached the subject from a systematic, professional, and theological perspective, integrating biblical texts, contemporary hymns, and traditional pieces and addressing common misconceptions within church choirs.
In conjunction with the training, two sacred music concerts were held on the evenings of July 14 and 15. Choirs from churches across Jincheng's six counties, cities, and districts presented well-prepared hymn performances featuring Chinese cultural elements.
