Hyundai Motor Company said it has received amazingly more consumer inquiries in its China headquarters after the hit Korean drama "Descendants of the Sun".

 The increase on Chinese' interest on the Hyundai cars was recorded after "Descendants of the Sun" featured a car scene showing Jin Goo's character Sergeant Major Seo Dae-young and Kim Ji-won's character First Lieutenant Yoon Myeong-joo kissing while the Genesis sedan drove by itself.

With the people in awe of their cars, Hyundai is hoping that this increase of interest will be soon translated to sales.

In the said famous scene, supporting male lead Jin Goo as Sergeant Major Seo Dae-young engages the Genesis' lane-keeping and cruise control function on an advanced touch screen dashboard before reaching over to grab his love interest Kim Ji-won's character First Lieutenant Yoon Myeong-joo and finally kissing her.

"While Hyundai is already an established brand in China, we expect the show's popularity to further help enhance our brand perception and awareness," Hyundai said in a statement.

"It is too early to say the show immediately helped boost our sales, our dealers are getting increasing interest and inquiries about products shown in the soap opera."

Meanwhile in China, the hit Korean drama garnered more than 2.6 billion views on famous video site, iQiyi.com. Furthermore, due to its popularity, the female fans of the show's lead actor Song Joong Ki have taken to call themselves "Mrs. Song" on social media.
