On Saturday, China Southern Airlines announced that they will be beginning their newest non-stop flight from Los Angeles to Shenyang on December 18.
According to Hou Ming, head of China Southern Airlines' North American branch, during the launch ceremony on Friday night in New York, China Southern "will serve to strengthen and open new opportunities for economic, cultural and trade exchanges between the two countries with the new route."
Currently, the airlines has weekly direct flights from LA to Guangzhou, San Francisco to Guangzhou and San Francisco to Wuhan. It also has direct flights from Vancouver to Guangzhou and weekly direct flights from Toronto to Guangzhou. Tourists flying to Mexico City can fly to the city via the Vancouver to Guangzhou route.
According to Hou, the LA-Shenyang route will boost the airlines' North America-China route capacity by up to 10%.
