Jay Chou, Faye Wong, Mayday Extend Help For Taiwan’s Earthquake

After a 6.4-magnitude earthquake had destroyed not only Taiwan’s infrastructure but has killed at least 35 persons, Chinese celebrities including Christian pop star Jay Chou had extended their helping hands.

Jay Chou, Mayday and Faye Wong are among the celebrities who responded to the tragedy and rallied together in a show of solidarity. They donated on the show in aid of rescue efforts for Taiwan.

According to Chou’s agency, the actor-singer is deeply concerned about the Earthquake and will donate NTD 20 million which is approximately 599,430 US dollars hoping it will help the rescue efforts.

On the other hand, Wong has declared to donate RMB 5 million which is approximately 760,820 US dollars.

"As Taiwan's daughter-in-law, our family of four have chipped in a little to help,” Wong said in a different interview. 

Meanwhile, Mayday’s Ashin announced that their band will donate NT$10 million which is approximately 299,715 US dollars on behalf of their band’s record label. 

Aside from Jay Chou, Faye Wong and Mayday,  celebrities like Show Luo, Rainie Yang and members of S.H.E. have pledged to donate money for additional rescue efforts.
