After Kung Fu Panda 3, Disney's newest animated movie 'Zootopia' is making a record as it record $25 million as its gross income on its second Saturday in Chinese theaters nationwide, reaching $100 on Sunday.

The film's performance has easily beaten the record set by Big Hero 6 as the top grossing film from Disney Animation Studios which atttained $89M nine days after it was released in China.

It is still uncertain if Zootopia would be able to beat Kung Fu Panda 3's record, which managed to get $146 million upon its Chinese release, becoming the biggest animated film to ever enter the Chinese box office. DreamWorks Animations CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg sees the performance of Kung Fu Panda 3 as an achievement as it was the first film they have done with Shanghai-based Oriental DreamWorks after their partnership in 2012.

Zootopia has earned immense reviews and a favorite topic in normal conversations, boosting its performance in China and in the rest of the globe. In its North America and worldwide performances, the film reached $100 million and $300 million respectively. It is also expected that Zootopia would remain at number one in North America for its second week, reaching an expected earnings up to $47 or 50 milliion.
