Proverbs 22:9 "Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor."
Nowadays, people seem to care how much they earn per month more than caring and be responsible towards others. However, looks like one person will change that view as one of the founder and CEO Pony Ma of Tencent has committed to gradually donate more than $2 billion company shares to a charitable fund.
The funds will help causes in the Chinese country for education, environment and healthcare and will be backing projects around the world that will focus on innovation in science and technology, according to Tencent statement on Monday.
Advocates said that the move by Ma can help encourage other billionaires to share their wealth for good causes, too.
"After 10 years of exploration and participation in philanthropic activities, I increasingly feel a better way to continue giving back to the society is to do it over a longer term and in a more organized way," said Ma, whose personal wealth is estimated to be around $19 billion.
1 Timothy 6:17-19 As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
