The Hong Kong government gave a donation worth HK$5706,000 (729056 USD) to the Amity Foundation in Hong Kong on Wednesday to help flood victims in Hunan and Guangxi. Earlier in July, the government granted HK$434,000 (55,452 USD) to assist flood relief work in Guangxi.

The donation will be used to provide rice, oil, and cotton quilts to the 8,415 affected households in the two provinces.

As of now, the Amity Foundation has invested 600,000 yuan (90,000 USD) into relief work in the South China flood, having distributed over 600 mosquito coils and 90 tons of rice to about 2,700 affected families.
