In a recent summit held in China, artificial intelligence is seen as a key part of life today and many experts see its potential in assisting the education industry to grow and develop.
During the Science of Intelligence and Learning Revolution International Summit Conference, held in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, on Nov 19 and 20, around 300 scientists, scholars, goverment officials and businessmen discussed how AI technology can change industries, including education.
According to Wang Yuan, the vice-president of NetEase, AI can help teachers and parents to better and more quickly tutor their children. Wu Fei, the vice-president of the College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University, says that AI will become a pivotal part of the education industry in the future.
Wu estimated that many Chinese universities will launch undergraduate majors for AI next year, as 38 colleges have reportedly handed in such applications to the Ministry of Education as of July 20.
