On September 13, 2019, the "2019 Social Service Summer Seminar " kicked off at Nanjing Union Theological Seminary (NUTS).
According to the official WeChat account of NUTS, the program was conducted jointly by Amity Foundation and NUTS. The 32 participants included pastors and workers who have obtained a master's degree in social service from the Lutheran Theological Seminary, church workers from ten provinces who will be carrying out social service projects, and students of the national seminary.
The weeklong program focused on the group discussions of the following topics: "an interpretation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development from the Biblical perspective"; "the qualifications, qualities, and self-cultivation of those involved ministry"; "environmental care"; and, "social service practices and laws and regulations".
The students were awarded course-completion certificates during the closing ceremony held on Sept 19.
