A rural preacher from Hunan was diagnosed with breast cancer is under chemotherapy.
And in order to aid the preacher, 103 believers gave donations amounting to 8850 yuan, ranging from 50 yuan to 1000 yuan each, which became their response to the appeal called by Rev. Chen Zhi, the chairman of the provincial CCC.
The principle of the donations set by the pastor is to save life instead of the poor and make it a long-term devotion added with every little making a difference.
Earlier in April, more than 80 Christians participated in the donation drive initiated by Rev. Chen for another rural preacher suffering from lung cancer and he collected 9000 yuan from the believers for their donation.
The pastor tells CCD that patients can get the reimbursement and use it for 60% of the medical expense in local hospitals, while believers with cancer have to go to big hospitals, only reimbursed for 30% by holding rural medical insurances. What's worse, many pills are excluded from the reimbursement scope.
