Xiangyang Church in Fancheng District, Xiangyang City, Hubei Province provided varying amounts of financial assistance to 27 needy students on August 27, totaling 55,000 yuan in cash.
With the school year beginning in every September, Xiangyang Church has designated August as a month of aid for students, aiming to help impoverished students attend the new semester, said Hubei Provincial TSPM. Over the past 25 years, the church has supported a number of children's tuition and living expenses.
The church launched an initiative for student aid in the first week of August this year, completing the collection of donations and registration of students in need in the second and third weeks. In the fourth week, the pastor and church staff visited the students and distributed the aid funds.
