In order to prepare for the start of school, Shandong Theological Seminary launched a training session for all the teaching staff on May 28, 2020.

One of the main content of this training was a study session of small groups using the "New Coronavirus Pneumonia Prevention Manual" led by Pastor Huang Fengxiang, according to the seminary. The team members discussed the contents of the manual, including site hygiene requirements, personal hygiene protection.

They then asked questions to help each other master and remember what they had learned. They watched a video entitled "New Coronavirus Epidemic Public Safety Class", which introduced the science behind the new coronavirus and the new coronavirus infection prevention measures. The video gave instructions on how to choose masks and how to deal with discarded masks; how to distinguish between the common cold and the new pneumonia; symptoms that need medical treatment and some misconceptions about the new coronavirus, such as if antibiotics can be used to prevent the pandemic. They also saw how the public responds and the psychological panic that is caused by the pandemic. The video and guidelines are from the National Health and Construction Commission

Pastor Li Hongyu, Executive Deputy Dean of Shandong Theological Seminary, said that first the school must improve the prevention and control work system and ensure everyone follows through on their obligations. The second things would be to put into place the following: diagnosis, safety training, arrangement, material security, isolation implementation, supervision and inspection, each link should be highly valued and seriously treated.
