On Wednesday, Zhejiang CC&TSPM announced that the gathering places would resume normal management Friday under the premise of strict measures for coronavirus pandemic control and prevention.

Implementing detailed and strict management during different time periods, the churches in the province were to guide churchgoers to attend in-person services, avoiding peak times.

According to the announcement, "Believers were required to follow COVID-19 protocols, such as having their QR codes scanned, wearing masks, having their temperatures taken, and keeping a social distance of one meter. The church should prepare hand sanitizers and disinfectants and regularly conduct inspections and cleaning at the venues."

The notice stated that the churches should meet relevant criteria if they are to hold large-scale, cross-regional, and non-regular gathering activities. "Not exceeding 50 percent of the venue’s capacity, the churches should guide believers to a simplified liturgical rite, the duration of group gathering activities should be shortened. Non-residents (of the venue) were not allowed to dine inside the venue, according to Zhejiang CC&TSPM."
