As last Friday was the 76th anniversary of the Victory over Japan Day and the World Anti-Fascist War, churches across China held peace prayer meetings.

Eighteen pastoral workers of St. John’s Church and volunteers from Changqing pastoral area in Suzhou, Jiangsu, attended a peace prayer meeting last Wednesday.

On September 3, staff workers from the Pinglu County CC&TSPM in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, carried out special commemorative activities in two memorial sites of martyrs in Dongyan Village and Duma Township.  The pastoral staff of Linyi County in Yuncheng City and the heads of 27 church sites participated in a prayer meeting for peace in the conference room.

Two days later, the prayer activities were held during the Sunday service in Jinsha Church, Tongzhou District, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province.

In early September, the pastoral workers and staff of Taiyuan Municipal CC&TSPM in Shanxi paid tribute to the martyrs in front of the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Monument in local Wenying Park.

With gratitude to the martyrs’ sacrifice of lives for the Chinese people’s permanent peace, they prayed for those countries and people in wars to be spared from danger, reminding others to cherish the peace of today.
