Qinghai Church Reopens, While Inner Mongolia Still Closes Amid Rising COVID-19 Infections

A Qinghai church announced the continuation of in-person services, while an Inner Mongolia church remains closed after more than 400 local confirmed COVID-19 cases. 

On December 1, Urad Front Banner Church in Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia, issued an announcement, stating that it would still suspend the Sunday service which was originally scheduled to resume on the coming Sunday. Believers were reminded to attend the online service, pray for the end of the pandemic, and follow the guidelines for personal protection.

On its official WeChat account on December 7, Xichuan Church in Xining City, Qinghai Province, issued a notice about the resumption of face-to-face services from December 12, Sunday, requiring churchgoers to follow the COVID-19 protocols to worship God.
