Christian Actress To Play as Jasmine in 'Aladdin' Live Action

Naomi Scott, a committed Christian, has been tapped to play the role of Princes Jasmine for the upcoming live-action movie of  Disney's "Alladin."

The 24-year-old actress is a daughter of a pastor. She has also recently appeared the Pink Ranger in the "Power Ranger" movie.

Scott is set to soar after she landed the role of the princess in the famous reboot of the 1992 Disney animation.

The 24-year-old actress' parents are both pastors at the Bridge Church, Woodford in England, wherein she also served as a worship leader.

Scott is married to a football player Jordan Spence. The actress revealed she is comfortable to share her Christian faith as she moves towards her goal in Hollywood.

In May, she talked about Christian's suffering for their faith.

"So many christians being targeted in Egypt and other areas. Praying for all my brothers and sisters around the world who face persecution," she posted on her Twitter account.

She is also fond of inviting her followers to hear worship songs just like encouraging them about Hillsong's new song "Grace to Grace."

Aside from making movies, she is also noted for her passion in music. In fact, she already released two EP's under her name titled "Invisible Division" which was released in 2014 and "Promises", which was released in 2016.

Scott also talked about her connection with the church in her interview with Hypebae magazine.

"God is the ultimate creative force. Growing up in the Church fostered an inner spirituality that also introduced me to the concept of music having a deeper meaning," she said. "There has always been a connection between my faith, and realizing that music can have a soul and purpose, which has ultimately affected the way I approach the art. Listening to soulful vocalists like Mary Mary and Kim Burrell; playing the piano, and leading worship has directly shaping my artistry."
