Jeremy Lin shared his current situation that his goal was to be content in Christ every day.
On January 29, the Christian basketball player said on China's Twitter Sina Weibo, "Arrived at Disney, the world's happiest place, haha. Already checked into the room. After isolation for a couple of days, I can finally go to the court."
In the new season, Jeremy Lin is expected to sign with Golden State's G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors. Lin posted a video on Weibo on January 21, saying that he had packed his luggage and was going to Santa Cruze. "I'm going to drive to Santa Cruz. I will be isolated for 7 days there and then our team will fly to Orlando. In there, I will be isolated again for four days before nine days practicing. We have 15 games after that."
Last year, Lin joined China's CBA and brought "Linsanity" to the CBA arena. With his teammates' hard work, the Chinese Basketball Association's Beijing Ducks have once again returned to the top four. The American-Taiwanese gained many fans, and his skills and philanthropy behaviors were appreciated by many people.
In September last year, Lin decided to temporarily leave the CBA for his NBA dream and wished everyone with Proverbs 16:3: "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."
Before that, he had been watching every chance to return to the NBA. The agent told him that the NBA was not interested in CBA statistics., so the fastest way back to the NBA was through the Development League. Last season, 35 players stepped onto the stage of the NBA through it.
After a long wait, Lin decided to join the Golden State's G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors on January 10 this year. He encouraged himself with Proverbs 16:5 on Instagram: "Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord. Though hand joins in hand, he shall not be unpunished."
According to San Francisco Chronicle, the star forwent a seven-figure contract in China and signed with Golden State's G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, for less than the average elementary school teacher's salary. "To surrender all of that and to come here, honestly, some people think I'm crazy," said Jeremy Lin.
He also shared his feeling of returning to the NBA on Instagram. When he was young, he said he was a brat who didn't work hard enough and would get kicked out of practice. He learned to work hard and "not waste my life." As he got older, he got so focused to "not waste my life" that he could only obsess and worship everything felt needed to accomplish. When he finally achieved what he set out to do, he just set more goals.
Jeremy said he was coming full circle back to the league, but his goal changed. "My goal is to be so content in Christ everyday which will actually truly help me 'not waste my life'."
He said, "I don't want to be lazy, but I don't want to be idolized. I want to thank Jesus for everything that comes my way while at the same time giving my all in pursing my dream. Bottomline is, if I can't learn to be content today, then I won't be even when I get to my destination!! Thanks to everyone for rolling me on this journey."
