What does it meant by the word "rely on Jesus" or "trust Jesus"?

Trusting Christ means that you are relying upon Jesus and not yourself. We cannot just get at heaven by doing all good deed and things that make us acceptable to Jesus. Rather, we are loved by God and forgiven by Jesus and that is why He saved us.

Faith: anytime that we demonstrate our faith, it means we are relying onto something. When we sit on a chair, we rely on the manufacturer that it is a chair that could hold us up. When we are on the freeway, we can rely on other drivers around us.

Proverbs 3:5 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding."

Trusting and having faith in Him means we rely on Him and depend on his reliability. Having trust and faith means we realize that God is greater, bigger and better than our own selves and He loves us so much.

The more mature our faith is, the bigger God will be for us. By faith, we learn to trust and rest in Him. We grow on depending completely in Him knowing that He is a competent God. In God's side we can find ourselves truly in a much safer place.

Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death" (NLT).

This is the problem always. We think that we are good by ourselves and we think we can do anything and everything but we are often wrong. Human intuition, as they say, is always not reliable.

Jeremiah 17:5-9 says "Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit." The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?"

1 Peter 5:7 says "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."

All that we worry, God waits for us to share it to him. As the Bible says, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest." God love us so much that He does not want us to suffer in this world.

If there are things that aren't going on our way or our plans, just share it to God. He's just a prayer away. He is there to listen. Believe that everything is working according to His plan. If you are not accepted in a job you wished for, God prepares you for a better job.

God is always there for us. It is us who are just forgetting the fact that we need to rely on Him. He is reliable. He will be reliable and always. He is the One who cares for you. We need to trust and rely on Him that one day, soon, He will provide the everlasting peace and joy in heaven.
