HK actor Damian Lau, officiated the wedding ceremony of Nicky Wu and Cecilia Liu. He blessed them, saying, "Now the new couple become one flesh. God bless 4th Prince and Ruo Xi." (Nicky starring as the fourth prince, the future Emperor Yongzheng and Cecilia as Ruoxi, his wife-to-be.)
"Two becoming one flesh" is extended from the Bible (Genesis 2:18-24).
At the new couple's wedding, as it is quoted in straitstimes, Nicky Wu who claims himself as a Christian confessed: "I blamed God for not being good to me, for being unfair to me, for putting me through a lot of strange suffering, for putting me through a lot of unhappy things. Now I understand why. Because God saved the best for me."
He also said to Cecilia humorously, "I will listen to you."His confession moved the bride and friends to tears.
Damian Lau also gave his wishes, saying, "It's moving and cosy, filled with people's tears. Many feel happy and shed tears for their marital happiness since Nicky, a man of experience, has built good relationships. Best wishes! Besides starring Nicky's father in the play, Damian Lau, the 64-year-old actor, has a deep relationship with Nicky in real life.
Before the wedding, he once shared that he knew their love at the end of last year just when everyone knew, satisfied with Cecilia Liu, the tender-hearted and virtuous future "daughter-in-law", commenting the marriage as good. He would agree with the marriage and would be the appropriate cheif witness at the wedding ceremony.
In addition, he wished them to cherish their happiness and get well along with each other, claiming that "marriage should be managed with efforts".
