EXO will be holding a concert in Nanjing, China however it has been postponed.
Originally, EXO was scheduled to hold 'EXO PLANET #3- The EXO Rdium' at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium on December 17. But it was suddenly changed to a new date.
"We are in the process of setting a new date due to a request for a date change from the local organizers," SM Entertainment announced.
According to some media outlets, the recent "Hallyu Ban" is speculated to be the cause of this abrupt change.
It can be recalled that Seoul decided to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense on the Korean Peninsula and China despises this decision. THAAD is an anti-ballistic missile defense system that was approved by Seoul in order to protect the Koreans and US forces in case the North Koreans launch an attack.
However, China disapproves because it believes that the U.S. defense on the Korean grounds will allow in-depth military surveillance that will weaken the security of both China and Russia. The conflict is escalating and obviously, it has greatly affected the Korea's entertainment sector as well.
On November 22, Akdong Musician was allowed by the Chinese cultural authority to perform in Shanghai. Because of this, the group immediately thought that the country had lifted its prohibition against Korean stars to arrange concerts and other events. Unfortunately, they remained strict with their policy.
