Prayer is our way of communicating with God. It can be a prayer asking for our needs to be met, or it could also be communion where we just speak to the Lord concerning anything and everything.
Every word that comes out of our mouths which are directed to God is considered to be a prayer.
But what is the best time to pray?
1) Pray When You're Happy
Just tell the Lord why you're happy. Talk to Him about it and express your gratitude. Joy is from the Lord. He delights in our happiness. This is also a great time to thank Him and praise Him for all He's done and for how wonderful He's been to you.
2) Pray When You're Sad
God is with you through thick and thin. He loves you at your best and even at your worst. Sadness is a perfect time to draw closer to God, completely leaning on Him and relying on His goodness to see you through.
3) Pray When You're Alone
Because you are never really alone. The Lord is with you.
I remember one time when I was so alone and the Lord reminded me that He's with me through a popular, secular song that, "I'm only one call away. I'll be there to save the day. Superman got nothing on me. I'm only one call away." So I called on the Lord and immediately, I felt His presence fill my heart and I said goodbye to the feeling of loneliness.
He IS one call away.
4) Pray When You're Confused
Who else to ask what to do but the one who is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient?
He knows how to rid you of your confusion because He is truth. Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life." Truth gets confusion done away with, so whatever time of day that you get confused, call on the Lord and pray to Him.
5) Pray When You Don't Feel Like It
This is the hardest of them all. Sometimes, things get so difficult around us that praying becomes difficult too. Things won't get better though if we don't pray, so we have to pray even when we don't feel like it. This is pushing through to break through and most times you'll feel yourself pushing, but take heart, God will help you push. So pray.
The best time to pray is every single day throughout the day. Stay connected with God by communion. Lean on Him by asking for His help. Set aside a special time for Him, an appointment, if you will, just to be with Him. The closer you are to God, the closer He is to you. Pray continually, the Bible says.
