Around 1,700 young people across Asia and the Middle East gathered together in Bangkok, Thailand, to attend Arise Asia 2023.

Convened from July 25 to 29, Arise Asia 2023 was to “inspire the next generation to take the gospel throughout Asia and to the world,” according to its official website.

The Lausanne Movement, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru), the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), Wheaton College, and the Asia Theological Association were just a few of the international and Asian partners who supported the conference, which featured plenaries, proclamations, panels on various topics, and afternoon sessions. The speakers included Rev. Dr. Patrick Fung, general director of OMF International; David Platt, pastor and founder of Radical Ministries; Sarah Breuel, director of Revive Europe and evangelism training coordinator for IFES; David Sung Eun Choi, senior pastor of the Global Mission Church in South Korea; and Dr. Peirong Lin, Ph.D., deputy secretary general of WEA.

Through prayer, worship, and learning together, those young participants aged 18 to 30 were challenged to “go to where there is no gospel”, particularly Asia, which embraces more than 60% of the world’s population.
