With the initial release of the mobile gaming application Pokemon Go, Niantic is now on full drive to get the game going in other parts of the globe. The company has announced that 26 countries in Europe after the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese release will be added in the roster.
In their Facebook post, the company announced the new countries to be included in the Pokemon Go craze:
Pokémon GO is available in twenty-six new countries. As of tonight, Trainers living in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland are able to download Pokémon GO from the Play Store or App Store.
In an interview with Reuters, Niantic CEO John Hanke has repeated the company's goal in having the game active in many countries, spanning in 200 countries and regions "really soon."
With the European release, Hanke has also said that Japan may finally get its wish to play the game as it is the home of Pokemon. South Korea is also a noted country for an official launch with considerations being studied for a Chinese launch.
The company is also looking at the possibility of introducing sponsored Pokestops which some users have already speculated within the week. If this is introduced, these sponsored stops will also increase the revenue of Pokemon Go.
