Recently, a Filipino internet sensation underwent plastic surgery and revealed to his haters that he should be accepted because of his new and improved looks.

From Marlou Arizala to Xander Ford

Marlou Arizala revealed his new looks in October 1 episode of Philippine's local show, "Rated K."

Marlou Arizala, a former member of Hasht5 ( Have A Successful Honor and Talent), rose to fame when his videos along with the other members became viral in 2015. The Facebook page of the group has more than 243,000 likes and their videos were viewed over one million times.

However, the group became infamous because of all the hate and bashing comments they received from netizens. People were accusing the five members for not taking a bath, calling them rugby boys or those who inhale solvent to get high.

Marlou Arizala was among the famous and most targeted member, with countless of memes created using his photos. Despite the love or hate the group had received, they earned their spot on a Philippine local network show and made several guest appearances.

Marlou left the Hasht5 in February 2016. He then appeared in several local shows, soap operas and sitcoms in the country as a solo artist.

Prior to his plastic surgery, Marlou became a brand ambassador for the skin clinic, Flawless. He was seen getting facials to get rid of his pimples.

In Early September this year, a Facebook account named Xander Ford posted the status, "MARLOU IS DEAD! I'm Xander, Marry Me or Follow Me?" and made the netizens curious. It turned out that Marlou Arizala was planning to get a plastic surgery to change his physical appearance.

During the September 10 episode of "Rated K," the show had detailed the surgery of the internet sensation.

"Yes, I was known because of my face and looks," Marlou said about his looks and his decision to undergo the surgery. "But I have a dream. My dream is to change my self, my face. Because nothing in this world is really permanent."

"I want to tell the world that the "Marlou" they used to bash and throw shades and hate on, even though they will still hate me or throw unfavorable comments to me now, it does not affect me anymore because I'm not that "Marlou" anymore," he added.

The 6-hour operation was done by Sr. Samuel Eric Yapjuangco of the Icon Clinic and the procedure was held at Marikina Doctors Hospital and Medical Center.

"If you change your face (looks), it should follow your name and your personality," said Vince Abasolo, general manager of Star Image Artist Management, Marlou's agency. "We want to achieve very class branding to the new Marlou."

Internet reacts to the new Marlou

"Xander Ford" and "Marlou" trended worldwide on October 1, the day when Marlou revealed his new look.

Many people applauded the confidence and firm decision of Marlou for changing his looks. But other people also went on highlighting that attitude is still what is important than looks.
