To honor the centenary of the Chinese Union Version (CUV) Bible, five Yunnan churches launched a Bible handwriting campaign on March 2, 2019, according to the WeChat account "Trinity Living Water".
The initiative is to transcribe 100 copies of the Bible by hand. Five churches in Kunming, including Trinity International Church, Beichen Church, and Shijicheng Church together will handwrite one copy of the Bible.
Rev. Luo Shuyin, vice-secretary general of the Yunnan China Christian Council (CCC) & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) and assistant senior pastor of Trinity Church, gave an introduction of the translation process of the CUV, the most widely used Chinese Bible translation by Chinese Christians nationwide.
The Chinese Union Version (CUV) was published in 1919 and translated by members from many different Protestant denominations. The revisions started in the early 1980s and completed in 2010.
