The "Source of Love" Charity Station in Yangpu District was awarded the title of "National Red Cross Model Unit" by the Red Cross Society of China on January 17.

The Yangpu District Central Hospital in Shanghai, named by the Red Cross Society of Yangpu District, sent medical staff to Wuhan after the outbreak of COVID-19. Because of the difficult situation and working hard for such a long time, they experienced a lot of stress. At the same time, many patients in the hospital who were under great pressure also needed to ease their emotions, according to the Shanghai CC&TSPM

In response to the above needs and to deliver humanitarian assistance, the "Source of Love" Charity Station in Yangpu District used music to relieve the stress felt by the medical workers and patients. The volunteer service team is affiliated with the Yangpu District CC&TSPM (Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement).

The volunteer service team played light music to help medical staff in the hospital stay calm and relieve stress during their lunch break on the second Thursday of each month. They also carried out special performances for the first-line medical staff who had returned from Hubei, paying tribute to these heroes. They sang, performed dances, and played musical instruments for the medical workers and patients on some important festivals, such as World Red Cross Day, July 1st, August 1st, Chinese National Day, and International Volunteer Day.

During COVID-19, they played songs in the WeChat group of volunteers to relieve their stress.
