In Australia, there is a person named Nick Vujicic who was born with no arms and legs and he encourages people with his amazing story. In Taiwan, we have a sister in the Lord that has the same story.
She is a famous mouth and foot painting artist in Taiwan named Yang Endian. She was abandoned by her biological parents due to her being born lacking hands. Afterwards, she was adopted by a pastor couple and this makes her tragic life to bear the witness to the grace of God.
At 7PM on August 8th, Ms.Yang attended the big public welfare party "Chinese people all over the world, one dream -- because it is LOVE IN LOVE" which was held in Beijing. Ms.Yang and her family gave us a testimony that love can make our life become different. She also painted a painting for charity at the party by herself and inspired us to share our love to these orphaned and disabled children for the reason that our love will change their destiny.
At the party, a short and carefully prepared sand painting video told us the life story of Ms.Yang. Ms.Yang naturally lost her hands and her chest was seriously deformed which caused her to be abandoned by her biological parents. Afterwards, she was adopted by a pastor couple. And they gave her the name Endian which in Chinese means grace. It is the encouragement and care from the pastor couple and many others around her that made a great difference in her life . In return for their love, she studied hard and finally became a great painter, a beautiful wife, and a competent mother.
Ms.Yang told us that her life was changed by others' encouragement and care. What impressed her most was that when she was three years old, a Mrs. Chiang Ching-kuo had come to the kindergarten and encouraged her. She told her that she still had feet to do many other things.
"Mrs. Chiang Ching-kuo's encouragement had changed my whole life," Ms.Yang thought. Meanwhile, she also enjoyed the great love that her foster parents Mrs.Yang Xi and Ms.Lin Fengying gave to her. And her parents demanded her to treat every thing seriously. These experience gave Ms Yang the confidence and an goal, that she must be a painter and her works must be painted in the same way as same as normal people. Moreover, making every painting be filled with love became a requirement to her works. Because, she is a person full of love.
At the day of the event, she signed her name and stamped her seal by foot on her previously painted picture "Peace and Rejoice". Her adept skill and generous attitude to life has inspired many people.
Yang Endian has learnt traditional Chinese painting from Master Chang Dai-chien and Wang Ruicong successively. She has been holding her international painting exhibition since she was twenty years old. And in 2007, she was elected as one of Taiwan's top ten outstanding youth.
