KIEP, short for Korean International Exchange Program, is a new program launched by the Amity Foundation, one of the largest Christian-based folk charitable organization, aiming at culture exchange and service learning.
KIEP begins with three Korean Volunteer participating in various events and working for social organizations associated with Amity. In this way connecting people from abroad with China, Amity wants to boost mutual understanding, friendship and peace building among countries and people.
Official reports from Amity states that three initial Korean participants got involved in the interaction with locals from Nanjing, where is the home city of Amity, in form of culture and language exchange with Nanjing University students, families, and social work at the Home for the Blessings,etc. Three of them also performed at Amity’s 30th Anniversary celebration and gave speeches at the first International Forum of Youth Philanthropy Entrepreneurship.
The KIEP program will also sent Chinese Students to go to Korean conversely.
