Lala Hsu was baptized in the year when Huang Qishan, well known as a pious Christian, shocked and moved people with her voice and experience as a dark horse, In the beginning of 2016, Lala Hsu won the first round of "I Am a Singer" 4 as another outstanding dark horse.
Born in 1984, Lala Hsu is a good singer-songwriter who majored in nursing in college and once dreamed of running a fried chicken restaurant. In 2008, she attended the Taiwanese TV program, “Three Million Star: Season 3,” and won the championship by her original song called, “Riding on a White Horse.” She then entered into the music world and ever since then her life had changed. For her excellent composing and writing competence, she was called as one of the Most Promising Female Singers in the Chinese World, with many albums has been released, most of which are composed and written by herself.
Although she gained some achievements in music after her music debut, Hsu, who worshiped Mazu (the Chinese patron goddess who is said to protect seafarers, worshiped popularly in Taiwan) with her mother, felt more and more exhausted because of no good things coming into her heart. For a long time she gradually didn't talk to others and deliberately ignored her feelings in her heart.
Later encouraged by her ex-boyfriend, she attended church steadily in the parish of Taiwan New Life Church for more than one year. Over the time of reading the Bible and fellowship, touched by God's love, Hsu decided to receive baptism on Easter Day. On Easter Day of 2013, she shared the good news to her fans, "Speak loudly if you love God. I'm baptized."
"I never read a book like the Bible which tells about love so thoroughly." Hsu confessed. After the baptism, Hsu realized that her talent was by the grace of God who had already prepared. She used to know nothing about music theory or read the staff notes but later she could sing and write the lyrics that move people. She was also recognized as a creatively talented woman.
She says from then on she will write love songs and sing for God, telling the story of the "encounter with Jesus" through music as the most romantic thing. She also joins in the big family, Jesus Fashion, to preach the Gospel.
