President Xi Jinping sends audio greeting for the upcoming Lantern Festival

"Hello, everyone. With the Lantern Festival around the corner, I wish you all happy, healthy and successful new year."

A greeting from President Xi Jinping for the upcoming Lantern Festival to the people across China.

President Xi, sent the audio greeting during his visit in the headquarters of major State media in Beijing, last Friday morning at around 8:40am.

Xi, sent the greeting on its WeChat and Weibo and its news app, some of his social media platforms.

The greeting was published at 9:36am and after two hours, it was liked by more than 17,000 people on Weibo account of People's Daily and shared nearly 10,000 times.

The netizens thanked Xi and greeted him an early Latern Festival.

"Hi, uncle Xi, I wish you a happy Lantern Festival in advance," a message from one of the netizens.

On the other hand, Xi also greeted and wished a good life to the villagers of Chixi Village in Ningde city, East China's Fujian province, through a live video chat at the newspaper's studio. Chixi is a poor village and Xi paid much attention on them to alleviate poverty especially when he was the former Party secretary of Ningde city.

Later on, Xi also came to see the headquarters of Xinhua News Agency and China Central Television (CCTV).
