Presently, high level foreign talents will be able to enjoy a simpler application for Chinese visa, immigration and even permanent residence in Beijing, according to reports.
According to Beijing Public Security Bureau, 20 new immigration policies have been implemented starting from March 1.
The new immigration measures are aimed towards meeting the needs of high - level foreign talents, overseas Chinese returnee entrepreneurs, young foreign students and foreign members of entrepreneurial teams.
According to experts, this measure will definitely aid and be an incentive for these high - level executives and foreign talents to permanently stay in China.
Some of the new immigration policies, out of the 20 decided ones, will be tested out first in Beijing's Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone.
These policies will include the Ministry of Public Security setting up a Permanent Residence Service Center in Zhongguancun to help with the demands of the foreigners, the approval period of the permanent residence for high - level foreign talent being shortened to 50 working days from 180 working days.
It also includes an integral assessment system being implemented for the permanent residence demands of foreigners in Zhongguancuan, according to People's Daily Online.
Additionally, another 10 policies that have been implemented since July 1, 2015 in Shanghai, will also be implemented in Beijing.
The additional 10 policies will include allowing foreigners who meet the wage and tax requirements to apply for permanent residence in China, thereby allowing high - level foreign talent to hire foreign domestic workers in China.
The Permanent Residence Service Center in Zhongguancun will be officially open to foreigners in Beijing from March 1, 2016.
