Secretary of Amity Foundation Wins "China Charity Person of 2016 Award"

This Tuesday Qiu Zhonghui, vice president of the board and general secretary of the Amity Foundation, was awarded "China Charity Person of 2016" in the 2016 China Annual Conference on Philanthropy held at China National Convention Center.

The Foundation reports that Qiu has won the prize for three years in a row. The conference also published the ten philanthropic news in 2016 and honored the other 99 Chinese charity persons, 100 charitable enterprises and 50 reports on philanthropy.

The conference commended Qiu, "Under the guidance of Qiu Zhonghui, the Amity Foundation set a new high on fundraising, practicing the concept of 'making a better and more just world and more abundant world'. In 2016, the Foundation established the international office in Geneva, Switzerland and sent a team  to provide disaster relief assistance to Ecuador, promoting Chinese charities to go abroad and strengthening international communication."

On Dec. 12, 2015, Qiu won the most influential "Annual Tribute Award" in the award ceremony of "Responsible China" 2015  held in Shenzhen. Meanwhile, Amity was honored with "Charity Action Award" thanks to its effective disaster relief for Nepal earthquake.

The foundation also reports that China Philanthropy Times ranked one hundred Chinese people on charity and Qiu was one among them, commenting, "They not only influenced Chinese philanthropy but also the whole China."
