On Saturday, China announced that 80 video games will now be released to the Chinese market after the regulating body froze approvals for almost the entire year.

Out of all the approved titles listed in the website of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, no video games were approved from the country's leading gaming firm Tencent Holdings.

China, currently considered as the world's largest gaming market, stopped approving new video games in March due to the growing concerns of critics saying that video games are becoming too violent. Others are also concerned about the health risks of gaming, such as myopia and video gaming addiction.
