Recently Yunnan religious authorities launched a project for the translation of the revised regulations on religious affairs into 18 ethnic languages.

According to the WeChat account of "Religion Week", the Yunnan Commission of Ethnic and Religious Affairs and Yunnan Audiovisual Press hosted a mobilization meeting for ethnic language translation. Finally signed in June 2017 and becoming effective in February 2018, the new religious regulations will be translated into 18 languages for 14 ethnic minorities including Yi, Bai, Hani and Dai.

The rules are comprised of nine chapters with a combined total of 77 articles, covering general provisions, religious groups, religious schools, venues for religious activities, clerical personnel, religious activities, religious assets, legal responsibility and  supplementary provisions. Two chapters of 29 articles were added to the old version which was launched in November 2014.
