The faith-based Amity Foundation has a new executive director for its Hong Kong office.

With a background in the field of social work, Mr. Keith Yau Siu Cheung has replaced the former executive director, Mr. Anthony K.H. Tong, who served for 16 years, Amity said on April 15.

Established in 1985, Amity Hong Kong Office serves as the first "window" overseas to raise funds for projects in mainland China and worldwide, as well as for publicity and public education in Hong Kong.

Headquartered in Nanjing, the Amity Foundation was "founded in 1985 on the initiative of Chinese Christians led by Bishop K.H. Ting" to "promote education, public health, social welfare, community development, environmental protection, disaster relief, and other philanthropic understandings in China and other parts of the world," according to its official website.

The independent Chinese social organization also owns offices in Geneva, Ethiopia, and Kenya, as well as the Nanjing-based Amity Printing Company, the world's largest Bible printer.
