Recently, churches in Beijing have held a variety of exhibitions and activities to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the War against Japanese Aggression and the WW2.
It is reported that in August, Beijing Chaoyang Church made exhibition boards which displayed 20 important events that happened during the Chinese People's War against Japanese Aggression. The heroic story of Chinese people and the army resisting against Japanese invaders was told in words and pictures. The commemoration activity attracted lots of believers and reminded visitors that they should cherish peace, love their homeland, and make continuous efforts to promote harmonious society in peaceful years.
On Aug. 6th, led by Senior Pastor Li Yonghong, full-time church workers and representatives of laities of the Beijing Zhushikou Church went to Wanping Fortress by Lugou Bridge where the Jul 7th Incident that marked the beginning of China's War against Japanese Aggression. They visited the Museum of the War against Japanese Aggression, cherished the memory of heroes and heroines of the wartime, and learned patriotic stories about resisting against Japanese invaders.
Since Aug 6th, ten posters selected from the Historical Retrospective Exhibition of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of War against Japanese Aggression and the WW2 have been on display at the Beijing Aide Nursing House (a Christian nursing house in Beijing). The display aims to promote patriotism as well as to encourage visitors to remember history and the martyrs cherish peace and make a better tomorrow.
On Aug. 12th and 13th, organized and led by the Office of Minorities, Religions and Overseas Chinese Affairs of Changping District, Beijing City, some core volunteers of Beijing Nankou Church visited the Pingxi Museum of the War against Japanese Aggression by the Shidujuma Riverside and the Museum for Commemorating the "Five Heroes on Langya Mountain" in Yi County, Hebei Province, where they remembered the martyrs who fought the blood battles for the independence of Chinese nation.
On Jul 31st, led by Senior Pastor Zhang Yanqin, all the full-time church workers of Beijing Fengtai Church visited the Museum of the War against Japanese Aggression. They also made a special trip to visit all the cadres of the Organization Headquarter of Commemoration Activities on the War of Resistance against Japan and brought them beverages to relieve them from the summer heat. They were warmly received by the officials.
