Beijing Christians Hold Concert for Peace & Justice

Beijing Christians held a concert for Peace and Justice in the Century Theatre, Sep 20th, 2015, commemorating the 70 anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War and the end of WWII, with documentaries, poetry, dance, poetry, etc.

The concert attracted part of the Church in Beijing and Tianjin, government leaders, also some Christian and their relatives who participated in the Anti-Japanese War.

At the concert, Beijing CCC&TSPM played the documentary "Glory and Peace", which tells the story of Beijing Christians defending the dignity of the nation during the war.

Cai Kui, chairman of Beijing TSPMe, said during his speech that the Christian is closely related to the fate of the country. He encourage Christians today to work hard, to serve and benefit the people, to pray for countries and contribute to world peace, to walk in the midst of the world of God, to become the messenger of peace, and let the flower of peace forever.

Pastor Kan baoping, vice chairman of national CCC&TSPM and director-general, also made a speech. He spoke that Jesus Christ is the king of peace, therefore every Christian should pray for peace, because peace can be sustained only when the country is powerful and prosperous.Liu Xianchuan, deputy director of the Beijing religious affairs bureau, told that Christian were devoted to resist foreign aggression. And these patriotic predecessors' anti-Japanese activities for the Anti-Japanese War made a historic contribution. Pastor Wu Wei, chairman of Beijing Christian academic affairs committee, shared the peace scriptures of Isaiah 2:2-4. 

Beijing churches such as Fengtai, Chongwenmen, GangWaShi, Haidian, Nankou, and Chaoyang church choir, and Tianjin CCC&TSPM Christian union choir gave a feast to vocal music for the concert, including the well-known patriotic songs, and Christian songs "You Raise Me up", "The Source of Life", "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee," etc.
