In the evening of Dec. 12, Beijing Chaoyang Church held the 10th Anniv Ceremony of Founding in which the believers performed over twenty programs including choruses, Beijing opera and solo songs. Rev. Yu Xinli, the senior pastor, thanked God for leading the ten-year journey in a video clip on show.
Beijing Chaoyang Church was established on Sept. 12, 2005 and it held the dedication ceremony on Dec. 16 the same year. Until now, the number of people who attend Sunday services has increased from more than 600 in the beginning to over 4000.
Chaoyang Church introduces that since 2006, it has received the guests like Rowan Douglas Williams, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Samuel Kobia, the general secretary of WCC, Franklin Graham, President of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and André Rouvoet, the previous Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands.
Chaoyang Church states that in the recent ten years, it participates in the charity activities like disaster rescues, post-disaster reconstruction, aiding children who are unable to go to school, visiting the seniors in the home for the aged and caring the orphans and disabled children.
It shows that currently there are six ministry departments: Follow-Up Ministry, Shepherding Ministry, the Music & Worship Ministry, Propaganda Ministry, Reception Ministry and English Ministry. And the church has several branch churches located in different communities and over 400 volunteers.
