Christian Nursing Home Becomes Private Non-enterprise Unit, New Step for Churches Joining in Social Service

Situated in Fujian Province, Nanping Sheng'ai (Holy Love) Nursing Home has received a certificate of private non-enterprise unit after 20-month's trial operation, marking a new step for local churches to participate in social service.

Covering an area of 2260 square meters with a floor area of 4777.58 square meters, the home held the opening ceremony on April 7, 2016. It owns 306 beds, provides mainly elderly care and hospice care. It serves both Christians and non-Christians.

"This helps Christian churches serve the society better by assisting more seniors live their later life in peace." says Yu Lishan, the president of the home.

According to CCC&TSPM, Dr. Emerson from U.S. Mennonite Health Assembly will co-work with the nursing staff for four weeks and provide on-the-spot guidance, sharing his experience and knowledge of the operation and staff management of the homes for the elderly,care for dementia seniors and seniors' mental health.

Currently the said nursing home is the second institution for elderly care, following Ren'ai Home for the Aged founded in 1998.
