Elder Daniel Shi or Dakun Shi, an outstanding Christian entrepreneur, shares the message of "faith that cannot be shaken" based on Hebrews 12:25-13:1 on April 10, Beijing.
Daniel Shi is a devout Christian, formerly CEO of Motorola China, with decades' experience in senior management. He serves in the church and the workplace ministry for decades.
He says, "We say 'a kingdom that cannot be shaken' that we should have unshaken faith first that produces faithful unshaken believers then we're able to enter into the unshaken kingdom."
Faithful people for generations form "an unshaken Kingdom."
He declares that what God establishes is a "unshaken kingdom". Since an earthly nation owns three elements: sovereinity, territory and people, so does "God's Kingdom" where God dominates all and owns all the land. Men need "unshaken faith" if they want to enter into the kingdom.
He shares,"God wants to possess a group of people, the faithful one for generations who form the unshaken kingdom together." Hebrews 12:28 is deeply connected with Hebrews 11:1 that defines faith. Following the verse, the rest of Chapter 11 in Hebrews tells about many faithful ancestors for generations including Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, James, Joseph, Moses,Rahab... These great faithful forefathers received the "a kingdom that cannot be shaken" because of their "unshaken faith."
We can't have "unshaken faith" without pondering.
Mr. Shi points out that it's worthy of pondering how they had such faith in their lives for Christians.
He stresses on that Christians need thinking given on the fact that they don't often think after converting to Christianity in the modern time. He adds, "My mission is to help Christians to ponder; help believers to ponder and thinkers to believe."
He encourages believers to meditate on the promise the ancestors expected or what they waited for and what the "unshaken faith" really is. For reflecting on our life, we can't bear tiny things such as the boss's scolding, the children's poor grades or forgetting to bring an umbrella.
Has our faith changed our lives that amaze others and ourselves?
Then he mentions the real challenge especially many Christians in the workplace face: believers always seem inferior to others, who hesitate to do as the world does or hardly practice good deeds.
He gives his testimony in his early career that he refused to sign in a paper to support abortion legal and led a bible study on Friday evening when was supposed to join a company party, which was despised by his boss. He kept praying for this for years. Finally his boss was gone and he became the boss.
He says Christians should ask themselves, "does my life amaze others and myself? What should we add or minus?"
He invites everyone to think about the question: "what is exatcly my faith is?"
He believes it consists of three cores-connection, conviction and convertion. Our connection with the Lord and conviction in him results in the convertion of deeds and lives. He concludes that there is a new life in an unshaken faith.
Is there the same "amazing index" in the church today as that in the earlier church?
The words like "amazement", "amazed", "atonished" appeared a lot in Acts. There are many amazing things in the Bible, which scarcely happen in our life.
"Today the only one thing our fellowship, church and Christians failed to do is to shake the world, amaze the people around you...Is there amazing index in the church today?
In the earlier church the apostle Peter said he didn't have gold or silver, but they had the resurrection power.
He continues, "the faith of people in the unshaken kingdom is anchored in the great power of Jesus' resurrection."
He demonstrates that the real changes of action amaze men rather than words with a story that a female colleague changed a brother with the amazing calm attitude towards firing, whose wife is a Christian, failing to amaze him in her life.
Moreover, he encourages Christians to build unshaken faith as well as to amaze the world and people surrounding.
