On April 23, Guangming Church held its dedication ceremony in Heyuan, Guangdong. It was estimated that 1300 local Christians including pastoral staff attended it.
Previously a small fellowship, it has turned into a formal church after having been founded for three years, according to the provincial CCC/TSPM. Covering an area of 300 square meters with a floor area of more than 900 square meters, the church has over 800 members. The church purchased the new building at the price of exceeding 3.5 million yuan.
Formerly a house church, it was registered as a venue for religious activities in April, 2014.
Rev. Liu Shifang, the chairman of the local CCC&TSPM, presided the dedication meanwhile the chairman of the provincial CCC and the deputy director of the bureau of religious affairs addressed speeches in the ceremony.
On the same day 300 attendees witnessed the dedication of another new church - Houmen Church.
Seven years ago, the congregation bought the current site to build a new church due to the former building out of repair for years. The new church was finally completed with long-term efforts plus dedicated this year.
